Variation of Indoor Airflow Patterns under Dynamic Outdoor Wind Conditions in Large Space Naturally Ventilated Buildings

چکیده
Understanding Indoor Airflow Patterns (IAPs) helps control air contaminants in large naturally ventilated buildings (NVBs). However, the effect of random and unpredictable changes outdoor wind conditions (OWC) is a major contributor to variation IAPs NVBs, making IAP uncontrollable. This study presents results field measurements numerical simulation NBV characteristic under dynamical OWC. The OWC data monitored real time was processed with Kalman Filtering (KF) gradient method decompose prior being entered into CFD solver. trend similar between simulated measured full size NVB. In addition, distribution internal turbulence intensity varied widely depending on spatial locations intervals. speeds vicinity windbreaks greatly affected certain frequency scale. not only prove that be an efficient tool for prediction time-averaged IAP, but also initialize measures IAQ dynamic space NVBs.

Prediction of Wind Environment and Indoor/Outdoor Relationships for PM2.5 in Different Building–Tree Grouping Patterns
Airflow behavior and indoor/outdoor PM2.5 dispersion in different building–tree grouping patterns depend significantly on the building–tree layouts and orientation towards the prevailing wind. By using a standard k-ε model and a revised generalized drift flux model, this study evaluated airflow fields and indoor/outdoor relationships for PM2.5 resulting from partly wind-induced natural ventilat...

Characterization of indoor air quality in school classrooms is crucial to children’s health and performance. The present study was undertaken to characterize the indoor air quality in six naturally ventilated classrooms of three schools in Cassino (Italy). Indoor particle number, mass, black carbon, CO2 and radon concentrations, as well as outdoor particle number were measured within school hou...

There is a significant lack of indoor air quality research in low energy homes. This study compared the indoor air quality of eight newly built case study homes constructed to similar levels of air-tightness and insulation; with two different ventilation strategies (four homes with Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems/Code level 4 and four homes naturally ventilated/Code lev...
متن کاملAirflow Pattern Similarity Criteria for Ceiling Slot-ventilated Agricultural Enclosures under Isothermal Conditions
The use of a scaled model can be an effective technique to predict ventilation performance of full-scale prototypes. Many criteria have been proposed to predict the behavior of airflow in a scale model and a prototype. Because of inconsistent results of proposed similarity criteria, more validation work is needed to clarify the conflicts. Experiments to study airflow similarity in ceiling slot-...
متن کاملIndoor Environmental Quality in Mechanically Ventilated, Energy-Efficient Buildings vs. Conventional Buildings
Energy-efficient buildings need mechanical ventilation. However, there are concerns that inadequate mechanical ventilation may lead to impaired indoor air quality. Using a semi-experimental field study, we investigated if exposure of occupants of two types of buildings (mechanical vs. natural ventilation) differs with regard to indoor air pollutants and climate factors. We investigated living a...
